Bastille Day Dinner

It's Bastille's Day and since none of my friends are French a large group of us decided to go out for a sensational French feast.

There were 12 of us around the table. I only know the couple that invited me along for the evening and the dinner was at at my ultimate favourite restaurant in Sydney. Bistro Moncur.

We had pre-dinner drinks at the bar upstairs as we had organised to meet at 7 but unable to be seated until 9.

I would usually feel uncomfortable only knowing a couple of people, especially as the only people I did know are my work mates inevitably I intended to be on my best behaviour.

I think my little new hair cut enhanced my confidence, I was seated at the head of the table and felt fine. I ordered the regulars, the French Onion Souffle Gratin followed by the Confit of Duck. All sensational as always, the anesthetist who was sitting next to night self proclaimed he is a wine connoisseur ordered wine for the table and as I said this was my favourite restaurant he ordered the same dishes as me to his delight thoroughly enjoyed.

I met some great people, intelligent people, fun people and people I'd love to go out to dinner with again and again. All this for $100. The best!
