I was out last night at a new happening night spot, a couple glass of Pinot and the great company of some of my closest friends.
The 3 of us girls are single and I brought along one of my great mate's M.. M. And I have been friends for approximately 4 years, had a date about 6 months after meeting, shared a kiss goodbye. I didn't feel anything, friends from that point... Until earlier this year around Easter we thought, we are friends, both single, mature, why not take our friendship to a more intimate level. All goes well for a month or so. Then. He said... "I miss T. (His old girlfriend) and wants to get back together....."
I didn't have any romantic feelings for M. So I wasn't hurt (well it dented my ego), I want him to be happy so I encouraged him to try again, give it 100%. He did and has been tentative to her needs etc.
Last night we are talking about the standard we have for a partner. They all "ganged" up on me saying I was too pedantic!?!? ME! I quickly reminded them of some of my past boyfriends... ;-)
Well, M. said "my standards are at an all time low, look, I'm seeing T." and added sarcastically "you can tell how happy I am".
My horror! He was seeing me - all the while he wanted to get back with the elusive T. If his standards are at an all time low with T. what does that say I was.....?
