NONE!!!! Don't do it. I have a tattoo and although I haven't 'regretted it' so much as just think it was a waste of time and money. I don't need a tattoo and it isn'y goign to improve with age. They fade rather badly after a few years and then they all look the same. A faded black/blue mass on a piece of skin you used to think was attractive. They don't come off with soap l;ike fake ones :)
PS: The red, in your flame, will fade to brown and the yellow you don't want to know about.
A tattoo on the calf or ankle just screams trailer trash to me. If you're having a tatt, have one in a spot that you can choose to show or hide. The shoulder blade (definitely inside the tank top line) sounds safest to me.
on a man.........tattoo's look hot on the calf. A couple of chris' surfy mates have them there and look great. Or maybe I was distracted by the six packs....
Hmmm Natalie, well, I'd have to agree with scorpy in that neither option is overly appealing. I have plenty of mates who have ink, a couple with the full polynesian / hawaiian artwork on their arms ( a bit like Dave Grohl has ). I've never struggled to resist the urge to get tatts... I hate pain!
I know a guy who has tattoos on his calves and I hate them. Mainly because I can not stand him...but also just because in summer they are constantly on display.
Shoulder blade definitely if he really really wants the tattoo.. Like most people have pointed out...It is easy to cover up if neccessary. Has he already got another tattoo?
I joined a gym here recently and one of the rules is no tattoos even if they are covered up...The other rule was you can't join if pregnant and can not go if you are pregnant...And also if you die your membership still has to be paid til the end of the month (I thought perhaps I was reading the Japanese wrong but they gave me and english version and nope...thats what it said)
A flame tattoo screams a little bit too much "pick and stick", which really just says "try hard".
If a guy, or anyone for that matter is going to do it, it needs to say something about you and not be some generic drunken inking...Daffy Duck on your arse is not sexy. ~grin~

Shoulder blade
neither. Not really a tattoo girl. But if I *had* to pick one - shoulder.

Not a tattoo girl either. But shoulder. Scorpy's warning sounds wise though.
Don't do the calf, if anything do the shoulder.
I have to be honest though. I have three tatts and i regret ALL of them. Make sure it's something you can live with.
On his thick, bulging wallet.

Really, it belongs between the cheeks of his arse.
Hmmmmm, Flaming shank, Flaming spank, or Flaming blades, I also think the flaming spank is probably the most appropriate.
Shoulder. Definitely shoulder :)
Shoulder blade i'm thinking although I always think tatts on a shoulder blade more of a woman's place for a tatt
Neither. I'm not into tattoos, no matter how small.

I don't mind a tattoo on a man's arms but I'm non inked and plan to stay that far.
Far too indecisive and commitment phobic of something I'll have forever.
i've always wanted a tattoo, but i've been warned about getting coloured ones, too. the advice above sounds wise.
whoaaa steph... I never knew about the ink!!!

ooo, wait - there is a solution - if the tatt is of a faded misshapen blob then you won't have to worry about it turning into a faded misshapen blob!!
I think shoulder blade.
It's a place which can be hidden without too much effort, but it's still very visbale if he chooses not to wear a shirt.

Tat on ankle for a guy ... big no no! Its a bit girly.
Anyway, I think a lot of people above have made the point that neither may best best ...
Why a flame? Is he 'fiery'?
I'd say forget the tattoo....

So Steph where are they and of what?
Thanks for all your feedback :-)
He did it, It's on the shoulder blade (and other on the arm) I'm yet to see them.
FYI - I'm generally not a tat fan and i would never consider getting on myself.
Now, Steph, spill! Where are they girl?
