Last night I went to see Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake, my usual ballet threshold is 10-15 minutes, this production being of with new dynamic contemporary flare I was eager to see it.
The colours were rich and vivacious, costumes flawless, the sets beautifully appointed and the head swan was damn hot, but, I was bored within minutes of this production the only thing keeping me through intermission, unlike the 3 surrounding groups was the magnificent sounds of Tchaikovsky.
In future I’ll stick to what I know and love, opera.

really? I would have thought it would be fascinating...
I would have loved it I think. I am absolutely enchanted by dance!
Cibbs, thats why i was looking forward to it. Disappointed.
Mez, I am usually. Last year I saw Floorplay, that was awesome!
You really have to be a fan of ballet to appreciate that. The juxtaposition of grace and atheletisism is what would keep me enthralled.
Love it!!
