You know I can talk about this subject forever.
Movies that you haven't seen that I think are amazing:
The Graduate - Here's to you, Mrs. Robinson
Chinatown - a detective story directed by a European. Fascinating and darkly styled
2001 - playing at the Chauvel next month
Maltese Falcon - oh, damn! Bogart plays Sam Spade and it's wild.
Annie Hall - I know you don't like Allen, but, in the theatre, it's so damn easy to watch.
Dr. Zhivago - softly romantic. My father's favourite movie.
Butch Cassidy - Redford and Newman make good buddies.
Amadeus - It's damn good, and is strangely relevant to my life.
Modern Times - some say it's the 'finest' movie ever made. It's unreal. I watch parts of it over and over.
The Searchers - I just watched this. Great western.
Unforgiven - like a modern tribute to The Searchers. Eastwood is goooood.
Also, I think these are the top 100 American Films, no?
