A New Leaf

The last week I’ve had the damned flu, I’m horrible to be around when I’m sick, grumpy, whingey, whinny and short tempered, that whole matrimonial “do you take this person in sickness’ is the most paramount vow to me. Anyway, I’m off on a tangent again. One and a half days off work another day totally unproductive, cloudy head, concentration was at ohhhh 3 minutes for any task, all my colleagues were out on-site, I was to man the office. Nice day to be alone, listening to swing and jazz – loud.

Unfortunately due to my little illness I missed my fencing lesson, boxing and pilates… As if being sick didn’t make me fell bad enough no exercise and looking like the walking dead didn’t help, of course in the beautiful 36degree Sydney weather on Saturday I went down to Bondi for a swim, nothing says exercise more than putting on last years bikini for the first time in public… I met my mate and found a great position on the sand, I love having a man smother lotion on my body… After 2 hours of jumping in the water and drying off, lotion re-application… I was ready to call it a day and slowly headed home. I noticed many hot guys walking the streets, they all look through me and towards the pretty young things, my self esteem hit the floor, only a year ago I was that girl.. I continued into my car, the steering wheel burning from the sun, I went the scenic route through Tamarama, Bronte and up the hill home, it was just after midday.

With the atrocious state on the real estate market and the atrocious state of my borrowing capacity v’s value for money I didn’t bother setting out for another day of disappointment, I did the next best thing, jumped in my air conditioned car and zoomed off to Birkenhead Point for some home ware shopping. I found myself in the David Jones warehouse, what rubbish! I looked at the no name small electrical appliances and dismissed then with the thoughts of electrocution and wandered by the perfume gift packs. A memory drifted back to me as I was looking at Bvlgari gift packs, it was approximately 3 years ago I was scouring every corner of Sydney looking to purchase a Bvlgari handbag for the great price of $1,300 and now look at me scrummaging for bargains in discount stores….

On a happier note I did find some great wine and champagne glasses, Bohemian Crystal, made in Czech Republic and the collection was My Name and I didn’t purchase any! Why? I’ll go back soon.

Saturday night I spent chilling with Vikki, well, chilling after we put together her new coffee table had a yummy dinner and wine, watched an old 80’s movie called it an early night. Sunday morning, not too bright and early we headed off to DFO Homebush for a bit more home shopping, I’m now a proud owner of a kick-ass Royal Doulton dinner set and Villeroy & Boch cutlery set, it’s going to be great eating my 2 minute noodles 3 times a week using them. We then went to Ikea in Rhodes, wow it’s huge! It’s bigger than the stores I saw in Germany and Czech, too many children, they should not be allowed to run around the store touching everything and stepping on my heels! I left with a few kitchen utensils and my first tool kit!

I’m embarrassed to admit it, I’m now addicted to Australian Idol. I’m blaming mother dearest for subjecting it to me week after week. How awesome was Dean’s performance! Not much beats good bad TV I was glued to the screen watching 100 most inspirational films

Another week has commenced, I’m adamant I’m going back to the N I was a couple years ago, focused, trying to get back to the remuneration, the figure and happiness that came with it.

So here I am, lunch time, the only allocated time slot for blogging as of today, this is my 8 coffee free day and I went 5 consecutive days without alcohol last week. Tonight I’m looking forward to catching up with my girlfriends that I haven’t seen or spoken to much of late and as soon as my body releases this damned flu I’m going to be full steam ahead.

I haven't gone without caffeine for a whole day in yonks.

Hope that you're feeling better, Miss Natalie.

I'm definitely trying to shape up after my recent break-up. I don't even want to think about bikinis yet.

I've only had about 3 cups of coffee in the past 2 months. Once you get into it, it's okay.

cBabe, I just didnt feel like coffee and yes, the flu made me steer away from alcohol - the only way ;-)

Hurrah for Birkenhead Point. I got the best leather jacket in the world there a few years ago.

Ooh, it's a baton relay! You seem to have become addicted to Idol just as I've lost my love of it. I've come to the conclusion that I'll just read Petstarr's wrap-ups at Bland Canyon, thereby saving two hours of my life every week.

Oh, and Ikea is evil. Only evil people trap you in their store and try to make you eat meatballs :P
