A Day at the Races…

Wore:
Black silk Marc Jacobs Dress, low heels (3”), pink medium brim hat, matching pink Marc Jacobs handbag.

I was armed with my members pass and clicked my confidence into high-gear; I was meeting a group of girls I’d only meet 2-3 times and I’m fully aware I have nothing in common with a any of the group of 15 or so attending… other than attending the races on Melbourne Cup day.

I arrived just in time to see the streaker run the track; I was wandering the members section blankly looking for the girls when I see a woman wearing a too-too, a Too-too to the races? Her male companion waved, I smiled at the sight of head to toe Versace, I made my way over, kissed on the cheek, introductions to the rest of the group… Champaign? Moët & Chandon thank you.

I called the girls, they were in Peasants Paddock, I had an invitation to stay with this wonderful successful Canberra property developer that I think all men should take example, his fiancée, with the best quote “why does everybody think I’m a French maid? It’s a too-too, I wore this in 2001 when I interviewed *insert mega rich English tycoon name*” Sydney based property developer AKA one of the most delectable men I’ve ever met and his model girlfriend, here on holiday from Spain.

The afternoon flew by with a flutter
of betting, sips of Champaign, meeting many beautiful people, hearing the loss of $1500 on one horse 'to win' The Cup, I compared in my mind the $40 I lost on 2 horses, win & place. I got separated from the couple I knew and stayed with Mr & Ms Gorgeous, the afternoon concluded with a ride home in a Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet and an invitation to Hugo’s for dinner…

I put $2 on a horse, and it teased me and the rest of the crowd.

I think Marc Jacobs would look ridiculous in that dress and I'm sure it better suited you LOL
I missed the races yesterday (had to study) but I am glad I didn't go as all the guys at work blew their doh and are sick as dogs ~grin~
