I found out this morning that my work colleagues mother is in hospital today, having a procedure on heart (coincidence or what) As per the norm this morning the MD asked about my weekend, I told him that MY mother was in hospital, he said, yours and *insert name* he then came out to our office area and spent 20 minutes or so talking to her about how 'everything will be ok'. Me? Not a thing! Not even a fucking acknowledgement of what i could potentially be going through.
It's after 1pm and she isn't answering the phone at all today!?! A shared task. Has it really escaped her attention that we are both in the same boat today? Both of our mothers have abnormalities with their heart.
She is short with everyone, 'i couldn't care less about that today' fuck me dead - life doesn't stop! Being an immature bitch to everyone is not going to make it any easier!
Revelation while writing this in an email to a friend... Now i see why there was so much more emphasis on how her mother is from the MD and not mine - a brave face, I’m stronger... On the outside anyway...

Nat, before I got to the end of your post, I started thinking of my reply. It's all to do with the "strong woman" facade, if you recall my post "Unveiling the Strong Woman" last week. People shift their attention to the weak (on the outside), and forget that deep down, we are breaking.
I'm thinking of you.
*hugs*
*teary eyed thank you*
