So, a weekend where no plans were on the horizon I usually view with open arms, I tend to enjoy being able to do whatever takes my fancy when the fancy strikes, however this weekend I wanted some excitement.
Friday afternoon I finished work 5:00pm on-the-dot and dashed to the local to met Julia for a quick drink at The Clock, I love that we can be chatting, emailing all day and when we see each other we have so much to say we’re off in 37 different tangents, then have to work back to find out what instigated the topic, everything was covered in an hour. Skin graph tests will be scheduled.
I was home in time to watch the 6pm news headlines and almost fell asleep on the lounge, why was I so tired?
M called on his way home from work, took a detour past my house, dropped off my birthday present and handed my the keys to his new s4 audi to ‘take for a test drive’ this car is sex on wheels! HOT!
M and I went for a couple drinks at The Golden Sheaf, so many people, it’s a Friday night. Don’t these people have anywhere better to go? M has only been there with me on a Sunday afternoon, he doesn’t come east very often, you know, the big bad bridge issue. He was pleasantly surprised by the amount of eye candy on parade and then shocked as 80% of the Roosters team walked past us, it’s the eastern suburbs! I exchanged acknowledgment nods with one of the more distinguished players on the team then questioned to high hell as to how I know him…
We left early, but, I still had his keys… I took the long way home.
As the good little girl I have been of late, I was up at the gym at 8am Saturday, why are there so many people are there so early? When I got home I came to the realisation I didn’t have anything to do all day. For some reason it upset me… to get over it, I gave myself a full body scrub, put a treatment through my hair, mani / pedi and plonked myself in front of the tele and watched Great Expectations.
The day drifted so slowly.
Saturday night i attended a dinner at Anahita, Persian restaurant in Lane Cove, I was invited by a sweet adorable girl I met at fencing. I felt thrown to the wolves, Jane was invited by a girl she goes to Uni with and she was the only person she knew, there I was all dressed up like a designer whore (from being in cargo’s singlet and thongs all day I needed to dress up) I’m not good in large groups, I turn into this little introverted person I don’t know or like, I thought the best conversation starter be “How did you meet?” “We met in biblical studies, and these are my friends from church” Oh, I’m an avid atheist, I look around at the guests she gestured to, they are looking in my direction, oh no, how do I get out of this one, “that’s fantastic” drop it drop it drop it… “what religion are you?” fuck, “I was brought up Church of England” okay, that should be alright, I’m not lying, that’s a sin for church going people. I look at Jane for some assistance… She’s caught up in another conversation – help me. “Do you go the church?” I couldn’t hide my initial reaction, you know that one of not ever willingly, “No I don’t go unless it’s a wedding, christening etc...” I’m putting in my best effort “why don’t you go more often” I’m not going to get into this. I loathe religious talk and speculation. “I don’t attend as I’m atheist” the questions rolled on, “Have you read the bible?” I couldn’t believe this! Why am I here? How do I get out of this? Attention was on me, “I’ve only read bits and pieces of the bible when I went to a catholic school” this has to end. “Anyway, I don’t care to speak of religious beliefs on first meetings”
Jane caught my eye and apologised, she had no idea. As soon as we finished dessert, we were outta there.
Sunday I decided to take myself out to Leichhardt, I have no idea why, I just haven’t been there during the day for the longest time, thought of it and couldn’t escape my mind. I did a quick run through my phone to see who I could invite, I just continued to scroll, I was in one of those moods… I went solo, i thought of going to the little car memorabilia store to pick up a Ferrari cap for my nephew, he loves Ferrari, if I had it my way I’d try to convince him to go Porsche. The store has closed and been replaced by a Thai massage parlour – is nothing sacred? (Yes I consider a Ferrari memorabilia store sacred!)
I had lunch while reading the paper, enjoyed a coffee people watching and there was something about the day, I wished for a second that I had a boyfriend (or alike) to join me for Sunday lunches. Damn it! I bought a DVD and some kitcheny stuff went home and plonked myself back in front of the TV and watched Take the Lead, could there be a more clichéd movie?
I slept badly and no back at work for another week, what is this weather? Bring on summer? I know it’s going to be one hell of a busy week, my boss in on leave. I’m just so happy I have next weekend to look forward to… Let the time fly…

You know it's going to be a bad week when on Monday morning all you can think of is next Friday night.
Its so cold isnt it? Shouldnt it be supposed to be summer?
Swagato
I would have loved to have been with you on Saturday night! Let me loose with nosey religious types!
I find it handy to tell people that I'm a Bright (http://the-brights.net/) if they start trying to foist their religion on me. If they ask me if I've read the bible, I'll say yes and then say that I didn't like the bits about rape, incest, murder, human sacrifice and genocide that their god seems so keen on.
Please tell me summer is just around the corner. I want to wear summer clothes!
I've just had a quick nosy at Marina's blog - wow, that's a serious shoe fetish!
